Delta Voices for Responsible Development began as a grassroots movement in response to the City of Delta’s push to pass a new Official Community Plan (OCP) without meaningful public consultation. Recognizing the profound impact these changes would have on Delta’s future, Delta Voices was founded to unite residents, amplify their voices, and demand transparency and accountability from local officials. What started as a small community effort quickly grew into a powerful force, with a rapidly expanding network of members joining together to challenge unchecked development and advocate for responsible urban planning.
Since our inception, Delta Voices has organized demonstrations, attended council meetings, engaged with local leaders, and garnered media attention—all to ensure that the people of Delta have a real say in shaping their community. Though the OCP was ultimately passed, our mission has only grown stronger. Today, we continue to fight for responsible development that respects Delta’s unique character, protects its natural spaces, and prioritizes the well-being of residents.
Our work is far from over. With new development proposals emerging, we remain steadfast in holding decision-makers accountable and ensuring that our community’s future is built with the input of those who call it home. Delta deserves a sustainable, thoughtful, and resident-considered approach to growth—and we are here to make sure that happens.
